I actually did like the concept of the game. The simple rpg structure worked and it provided some incentive to keep playing the game other than "got 5 minutes play something while I take a dump" that most casual games fall into. I really wanted to like the game.
In the end, broken, cheating AI totally turned me off from it. I'm lucky if I get a 2 chain combo, but the cpu seems to pull off 4 or 5 chains with alarming frequency. I get stuck on fights/quests for a long ass time, only gaining miniscule XP and gold for each failed attempt.
Maybe I just built a fucking bad character, but I never feel on par with my opponent. Maybe it would be better if I leveled up faster? Feeling overmatched is a bad start, but then that AI kicks in and buries you without mercy.
The game seems a little sloppy too. There are several bugs that just should not have been missed. How can you not notice that your party members don't do anything?
I like the core gameplay itself. The rpg quests wrapped around the bejelewed clone is a great idea, it just fails in execution. I hope they fix all that for their next game. If they do, I'd probably get sucked into it bigtime.
