As soon as I came to work, I was met with the boss, who was trying to fix a problem - quickbooks was on her computer, which had been fried. But we had a restore from friday.

So I got to work, doing what I could, and she kept bitchign about how she "didn't want me fuckign the computer up." This is not uncommon, she is incredibly ignorant about computers but has had some tech guys walk her through some things, so she thinks she knows everythign about any program, and that any other program / user will ruin her delicate system.

So I said fuck it. I won't even try to fucking help because I know I'll be blamed for the nuances these shitty computers have inhereted due to there being build by a fuckign idiot. I couldn't install the printer on my computer, for instace, because the moron who built them ruined the USB ports. That's right, there is no usable usb port on the computer. And the DVD drive does not work at all. Keep in mind most of this is hardware from september of last year, so it should all work.

After an hour of her backwards ass attempts to fix the computers by reinstallign the QB clients (a complete waste of time, but I wasn't going to argue with her at that point), fuckign around with drive mapping (something useful to maintain consistant files, but irrelevent if you can't even use QB), she was getting tired, defeated.

That's when I came in. I pointed out that there were identical folders, one of which was shared and the other was not. Because of some strange error with the shares, the folder which the comany was stored in was inaccessible to the network. After failing to get this across in the simplest of terms, I simply sat at the computer and fixed the problem, and then proceeded to turn off the windows firewall, whose exception for QB did no good. Problem solved. I am dreading tomorrow, because all day yesterday she was insisting that we needed to keep windows pitiful firewall up, because she is certain that hackers will spread virii throughout the network if the sharing is modified at all or any of her attempts at security are compromised. I keep wanting to tell her the the only viruses she needs to fear are her two sons, one of which built the computers and the other who is so goddamn stuid that he ruined both his computers at his house because he downloaded an adware or smth which claimed to boost his interent speed.

This is where I work.
