I really got to know. I read the crap and it appears to be a modern version of STUNTS. It says you go over crazy ass preset tracks to try and get 1st/best time, and then has an insane track maker so you can make your own insane-o crap to mess around with.

Seems that in April they decided to make this $30-40 game go freebie. http://www.trackmania.com/en/index.php?lang=en&rub=downloads_info&id=17

The nations games have always been free, it's even available through Steam. And this one doesn't infect you with Starforce.

The downloadable version doesn't use SF.

But regarding the game: it's amazing. I bought one of the last compiles (Trackmania United) for 15 bucks here in Brazil. Worth every penny. There are many different classes of cars and track styles (from 400Km/h sports cars on a highway to 4x4s on a frozen lake), it's incredible fun and it looks great if you jack all the gfx up.

It's damn well worth playing. I used to play it on a Athlon 2800 and a 6800GT and it handled well enough. Now with an E4400 and a 9600GT it runs maxed out at well over 80fps. Try it out if you can.

All work and no play makes me..., well, you know the rest.

Man, can't believe there's other people that liked that game. The only thing shitty about it is if you even grazed the wall your windshield would crack and you'd be dead. I used to build tons of tracks on that game and save crazy ass replays. You could build a loop, keep going around it and building up speed, then just turn off and go flying, bouncing off of shit everywhere. Me and some friends used to compete just for air time. That and Test Drive 3 were some classic games. I already downloaded this but didn't bother trying it yet...

Yup Stunts was and still is the shit. I recall a few years ago they(someone) was working to get it working using OpenGL or something on a modern PC (much like those Wolf3D resurrections, etc do.)

I'm guessing from comments so far this game is sorta like Stunts, just with an F1 car.

Man I never even heard of it... apparently there is Ultimate Stunts thanks for telling me about that, I just wasted a couple of hours on that ;)

Now if only there was a remake of Test Drive III: The Passion...

YAYA that's it Ultimate Stunts was some remake I think. I also recall someone doing the Wolf3D treatment though too taking the original and going OGL with it, but it could have tanked and been removed.
