Happened to find this by luck on craigslist locally and to think I would have done it for $100 2 christmas's ago at best buy had I the cash then. Got this thing used, and it's a little scuffed up but nothing horrible at all. Sadly one part is busted, but doesn't stop gameplay so I'm going to try and find a replacement motor tomorrow or during the week. There is this round motor in a plastic housing on the bottom that drives up a small piston that makes the triple bumpers up top go bang everytime a ball hits the plate around it. It still registers the score just no fun bang bang. :\ The model I found was the Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest and it's pretty good, though hard as it's easy to cheap drop the sucker in the center. It really is quite good, about as nice as home can get w/out the cash and 25% more space I don't have for a full size. Also there was a messed up piece if plastic (the dead man's chest was closed, should be open to see a red glowing heart beat but I got a pen holding it up now as the superglue dries. :P

Hey it was a little battered but for $20 who gives a crap. If it costs me another $10 or something for that motor I don't care as they cost $200 or worse typically which is a bit high.

Yay reply to self...

I did some hack n slash here to figure the mess out and have hopefully found the source because if it is it's like a $3 part. There is a 5W4R7J resistor that literally fried and cracked the porcelain white rectangle that enclosed it...it's quite ashy. That little white box was on the black wire leading into the solenoid (sh-1040 24vDC) Shih Shin 0621 unit. I'd call it 50/50 that's burnt out too considering the heat melted/contorted plastic thing it sits in.

I imagine if I can find another resistor I can give it a shot at fixing it, but if not I can try and order the combined part from Zizzle for not too much I'd hope. Regardless the unit works w/out it mostly, just no bumper action on those 3 up there so the ball just bounces off scoring once and dropping out. :(
