I tried a camcorder over a component connection and could not get it to work in 1080p or 1080i. Then I switched to 576p (forgot the exact number, but it's the "SD" progressive mode), and it displayed. Obviously it was blurry but I can't get anything better unless I use the camera's HDMI connection (which I can't record on as I don't have a recording device that suppots it).

So what I guess is happening is that the Xbox is outputting 576p instead of 1080p ?
