Future shop had a deal where you get the new reduced price ($299) and two games - Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3. Being a smartass (and not really wanting UT3) I asked if I could swap one of the games for a different one - he asked why, and I said it's because I have kids, I wanted a game they could play. I guess I called his bluff - they can't restrict the bundles if they're mature titles or something like that. He looked up the price of UT3, and asked me to pick a game of equal value - $59!!
I wandered back to the games, and took my chances with Halo 3 - both it and UT3 are 'mature' titles, so I figured he'd want me to pick up a kids' game. I put it on the counter, and he commented 'you sure you don't want a kids game?'. I was like 'what, rattatouile?'. He laughed.
He rang it up, I also picked up an open-box HDMI cable (someone probably just didn't realize their TV didn't have HDMI hookups, and had to return it), and it totalled 367 bucks. I got an Xbox 360 Pro Console, Gears of War, Halo 3 and an HDMI cable.
I then wandered over to Walmart and picked up Need for Speed Carbon - so my son would actually have something to play.
I don't have the network bit set up yet - I need the wireless adapter (I'm not running 25 feet of CAT5 cable through my livingroom). I'll be trying to find one of those tomorrow.
So what games should I absolutely try?
