SubjectSlowdowns on Megaman3 ? Reply to this message

So, i went to play some Megaman3 today.
And i started in Top Man stage, because Top Man is badass, and the stage is easy as cake.
And there were these awful slowdowns all over the stage. But i beat, then i proceeded to Snake Man, same thing. So i thought, it may be a NesterDC issue, and i just tried 2 NES emulators on PC, itīs the same thing. Megaman 2 and 6 plays SO much better, itīs not even funny, however the clever level design on 3, itīs top notch, imho.

But, are these slows present on the real game, i really canīt remember them being there, thatīs why i am asking..

Yeah 3 is up there. When I was a kid it was my favorite, but now I think 1 & 2 are the best ones, with 3 in 3rd. I wanted to like the others but ever since they started up with the charge shot shit, fuck that. Plus there are some pretty retarded bosses as you go on...

There is slowdown in the actual game as well, it's pretty sad (To use Top Man's stage as an example: those hardhat guys driving the machines with shovels, when you get to the cat with the fleas and bouncing yarn ball, etc). But it's NES :)

3 used to be my favorite for quite some time.
2 is ace, however i suck completely at it. Airman stage always bust me.. fuck falling pits, hehe.

i agree with the charged shots being stupid, however, i do like the level design in 6.
And some of the bosses are not all that idiotic, the Blizzard man/ Flame man duo is kinda of cool, in a Iceman / Fireman redux way.

I couldnīt care less about the others.

But i really want to get back into 3 again... i am considering buying the cart, just saw for 10 bucks.
There arenīt any difference between JP and US, right ?

I mastered that shit as a kid, jumping onto the very edge when there's no enemy and then jumping off onto the next one... You had to get used to that stuff with all the precision jumping on the disappearing blocks of Megaman 1 (and in Heat Man's stage, unless you use Option 2 I think).

I guess I'll give it another spin

There are some nice bosses, but they should just put them all together into one game. I liked Dive Man's stage, and there are some nice levels and bosses in those games, Megaman 4 had nice ideas, it's just the engine seemed barely able to keep up with all the advancements and it seemed janky and glitchy to me compaered to the other games which seemed refined.

I don't think there are but I'm not sure 100%. I'd buy it though it's worth it.
