What really bothers me about Vista is the drop in performance due to DRM. There was a slowdown introduced in Vista when you copy files, and it was incredibly slow to copy/delete/move files. That's pretty stupid in and of itself, but SP1 was supposed to help the problem. It only sped things up about 30%. Well if you have about a 1000% speed drop, how is improving the situation by 30% really going to help? It's only going to make the problem less bad, but it's still bad. I really wouldn't use it as my main OS. When I switched to Linux I was happy about the speed boost I had from not having to run an antivirus, it made things lightning quick compared to before. But now with Vista not only do you have to run an antivirus but file operations are already really fucking slow. I really don't even want to know what it's like with an antivirus and other processes running in the background.
