the DSi seems very very tacked together. it seems like nintendo's making a half arsed attempt to do two things, which I'll detail in no particular order.

A) Kill the flashcarts.

B) Seem modern.

The first objective, will be a temporary success. Very temporary. A dozen different manufacturers will scramble to release a new flashcart shortly after the release of the DSi. Even worse for Nintendo; delaying the release outside of Japan means a compatible flashcart will probably be available in the US and Europe before the DSi gets its official release.

As far as the second objective; it fails, really badly. There doesn't seem to be any prevailing wisdom as to why slapping a camera or two and upping the screen size is going to turn the DSi into the ultimate take-along-toy. It just seems a little... old?
