I just beat Final Fantasy 2 again on Zsnes (hq4x @ 1920 x 1080 made it playable again, heh) and was contemplating reliving LOTP next.

Dammit; Squaresoft prior to their merger with Enix put out some good stuff. The storyline still held my attention even though I'm sure any middle-schooled could've done a better translation.

Not to mention the music is dynamite. Good use of low-pass filter. Blows Genesis music outta the water (Genesis YM2151 is poop).
