Well not really, I played some Ultima, Eye of the Beholder, Might & Magic, etc. They all suck. Honestly the only Western RPG-type games I liked were King's Quest & Quest for Glory. I thought there was no way I would ever like this.

But I picked up this game because the idea that there was such a huge world with a ton of locations to explore and a landscape to discover, and people to fuck with, it just sounded interesting.

The controls sure are bizarre, and the game engine is pretty janky... the graphics aren't the greatest and the voice acting is not the best. Reminds me of what I thought the first time I played GTA3. At first I thought it was cool that you could do whatever you want, but then it occurred to me that I could very easily screw up things for myself and unknowingly prevent myself from completing certain objectives.

Plus you have to manage your statistics, you can only carry so much, and you can't really max out your character in every area because of a level cap, and if you specialize in the wrong things you could make things really difficult for yourself. Not the greatest situation for someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

I think I'm coming to grips with how to play the game though... I think the game is starting to grow on me.
