Learn to share, you've had plenty of play dates with the Olympics, let some other countries have a turn. :-D

They are going to demolish the racing track of Jacarépagua to build a olympic complex.
To HELL with them.

True. I guess I never realized that there's never been an Olympics in South America. (I did realize that Africa never hosted one.) Being from Chicago, though, I kinda wanted to see them here. I'm a homer that way. :^)

There were what? 2-3 stock car races there a year.

Besides that, we are destroying historic grounds, as much as i LOVE Interlagos, and believe me, i do love it. Jacarépagua had some pretty intense F1 GPs in the 80's.

The track was kinda of abandoned, it's true. But it's a shame to see Rio without a nice racing track. And they are talking about building a street course to host the Indy next year. Why not invest that money into revamping Jacarépagua, which also have a pretty nice Oval (used by the Indy on the 90's).

I don't know, i guess as a racing fan, it saddens me to see a historic track fades away. Specially with the sad end of Jacarépagua.
