they should have let the dad talk to his son. anyone can think of a stand off where the police let a family member talk to the suspect cause the news reported that the police are saying that it doesn't make tactical sense to let family member negotiate. They said they never had or will ever let a family member do the negotiating. I suspect that 99% of the stand off are not as public as this one.
