Why mess with something that's perfectly good? Dumbasses.

That reminds me of the Atari pack for the DS, they made crappy "updated" versions of the games, i.e., Missile Command where you could only attack on the bottom half of the screen, 2 screen centipede, Tempest which required the touchpad for controls. I had never seen a retro pack destroyed so successfully previously...

The pack was probably modified by people that never played the original games on the original hardware. They never knew what made the games successful.

sometimes the magic of soundtracks happens to be partially because of the hardware they're created on. might be difficult to reproduce on a different chipset. that being said, it would be nice if they just somehow dumped or did a straight recording to file for playback.

at any rate, i agree - don't fuck with magic.

I don't care if they update the FM/PSG music but they could have just re-used the existing CD audio.

I used to have the game, had to sacrifice it. Honestly I hated the TGCD game update, didn't feel like it played right and yes the audio sucks too. I went and got a patch online to do SOTN and it was fine, but not enough to keep. eventually I'll grab that PSX disc and wedge it on my pussy 1GB psp memory stick when the mood hits. Honestly I prefer the Saturn game, never did finish the PSX version since it felt like it lacked due to less areas.

TGCD Game Update? The TGCD was the original. the SNES one was the update.

Ah, OK. I'm not too fond of the '3d' update either, it is worth getting for SOTN though.

I generally try to avoid anything associated to Infogrames when it comes to their legacy Atari IP rights. When you see how well Midway took their own properties under Digital Eclipse and compare them to the Atari brand of retro-Atari products it is terrible what they have done.

Let's not forget how well Activison he handled their own Anthology of Activision products in contrast. Atari today is terrible when it comes to representing Atari's own past.

It's sad, there are so many great games that could be re released or improved upon...
