A local pawn shop has an Acer Aspire 5920G (C2D, 2GB RAM, 80GB HD, HDMI, Firewire, USB, dedicated nVidia 8600, etc) for $299.

Doe this sound like a good deal? Any of you have experiences with Acers? My only experience is with Toshiba lappies.

I have a few older ones and weird stuff starts happening at about that time for me. Maybe it was loved, maybe not.

For just a little bit more than the used price you could get someting close for new I would think $499 or so

But I may be wrong dependiong on where you live. You're English I think right? You guys don't have the majesty that is Wal-Mart :)

They used to be the lowest rated computer in quality and customer satisfaction by Consumer Reports.

I don't know about their newer stuff but now Acer, eMachines, Gateway, & MPC are all the same company and all of the other brands are crap. The MPC line is bankrupt now.
