The problem I'm having with it at the moment, and to me it's a big problem, is that it will not allow me to display the music in the same way I've set up the directories. For example, I teach swing, latin, and line dancing classes. I've made three subdirectories on the unit and have called them 'swing', 'latin', and 'line' and have copied the appropriate music to each directory.

The Zen won't display it in this fashion. It relies only on ID3 tags, and a lot of my music doesn't have ID3 tags or has misinformation in the tag.

Maybe you could program lists for it?

Bummer - my Sansa Clip+ can play stuff via directory and it's very useful! It's only 8GB though.

You could try running mp3tag over your music collection to add ID3 tags. It's a great program once you get used to it.
