SubjectGreat games you just never got into? Reply to this message

I just watched about 2 hours of Angry Video Game Nerd and saw his piece on the Castlevania series of games. It was one of those series I just never played, even though I can recognize it's greatness and see why it gets so much love. It seems I missed out on some major games for arbitrary reasons.

For me I missed out on all the Metroids - tried it and liked it, but never liked the box art for any of the versions enough to buy it. I know lame excuse.

Resident Evil - I have 4 but never played it beyond the first ten minutes or so. I can see how they were good though.

Rachet and Clank - They seem to be great games, but I just never cared to play them, even the ones I have.

You guys have some similar experiences?

Resident evil and all the games like it. I used to despise FPS games as well until a friend gave me Call of duty modern warfare 2 and I have fell it love with it. Haven't played a FPS like this since halo 2 back in 2003. I am not a big fan of FPSs still but this one holds my attention.

I also can't stand turn based strategy games even though many get amazing reviews from friends and such.

every single game made for nintendo consoles after SNES.

I can't believe ocarina of something got perfect score in that jp magazine and a mountain of praises....I played it on the N64 emu for about 20mins and don't see how it manage to be a good game.

mario 64 was great... same goes for super mario sunshine and galaxy... so can't really agree with that. I liked ocarina of time, but the auto jump did get extremely annoying.

I also like wind waker quite a bit and the twilight princess was decent too.

Maybe because I was afraid of the awesomeness of Zelda in 3D.

I preordered it & got it on day 1 & really didn't play it much after that.

I'd still rather play Link to the Past (or even Zelda 1) anyday over Ocarina of Time.

My friends raved about it, lent it to me. I played an hour or 2 and thought "I can't commit to this game. I've just played through 30 hours or so of GTA IV and I'm out".
Maybe I'll go back to it at some point. Currently sitting at something like 3.5 days of multiplayer at MW2, so I can clearly spend lots of time on games!

That reminds me ... I'm often online with my buddies from home, but if I'm on my own and I see one of you guys come online, should I Party Up? I'm SuperMarvio...

I have racked up about 1.5 days now on mw2 myself. I see you pop online a lot... thought the same thing about invites. If you want to send me a party invite go for it.
