Well at least we have a countdown to when the Tonight Show would be funny again. Leno was the networks world largest fuck up...a pathetic unfunny downgrade from the greatness of Carson. I barely caught much of him in the end due to being yelled at for staying up that late, but I did at times, and have caught others in daytime odd network rerunage. Leno is horrid, and Conan at times is a bit like him for sure.

I have a feeling that once Conan takes over the tonight show, they won't be able to do a lot of the stuff they do on Late Night that makes it so funny. They'll want him to cater to old people and shit like Leno. No more stuff like the masturbating bear that's for sure.

Then again, Leno does some stuff that's a little bit out there. The problem is - he's simply not funny. He's even worse than Letterman at conducting an interview. All he does is sit there, gesture towards the person like he's going to grab their sleve, and laugh like an idiot. He sucks. Conan is at least quick on his feet. And fuck, is Kevin Eubanks bad. One of the funniest parts about Conan is how he chides Max all the time. Hopefully they can keep the bit about Joel Goddard and his Asian boytoy. Also those vacation pictures where someone inevitably gets dismembered or killed. That shit's funny.

They already don't... Driving the desks was classic. I think their jokes have been a little toned down, they used to be a lot funnier. Also Conan acts a little too retarded to the guests, he doesn't even seem to care what they're talking about most of the time, he's just like "Yeah, uh huh, hey look at teh masturbating bear!!! Followed by a Walker Texas Ranger clip!!!" I'm not ragging on the show or anything, I like it and watch it a lot, but it's not as good as it used to be.

I think that this change will mean nothing except that Conan's on an hour earlier, is that really a big deal?

Who cares? At least you get to hear the guest talk once in a while, and the response from the host will be at least relevent. It seems like Conan does a little too much joking around, most of the time Conan is just going "uh huh, yeah, oh ok" and if he can think of some impression or joke or whatever he does it, and it's not always on topic and sometimes sounds stupid. I think Jay is consistantly funny, even if he doesn't make as many jokes. I don't really care, I'm entertained either way.

Sometimes I think Max is about to lose his job, if only it weren't for the running gag that he's a pedo. And he's nowhere near as shitty as Baldy McSunglasses on Letterman.

Well the way I see it, a lot of the guests on there are un-interesting; thankfully Conan is there to make things funny. That one Christmas episode with Rebecca Stamos where they pass the tissue? You will never see something like that on Leno.

And I agree that Paul Schaffer on Letterman is fucking annoying.

Shame NBC the No Brains Channel (or National Barack Channel too) are fucking Conan over for that unfunny hack Leno. I hope the stories of Conan going to Fox come true as it would be a great knife in the face of those assholes.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down thar, pardner. I don't think anybody really wants Leno back outside of NBC mismanagement. I don't know where to get the raw numbers, and I don't really want to go digging for the graph I saw, but Conan's ratings dropped pretty sharply after the Jay Leno Variety Hour started. Granted, prior to that they hadn't been where TS:JL or LN:CO'B had been previously. Part of that was the hobbling of Conan in the transition to Tonight, I'm sure, but what really killed it was the JLVH. Despite all that, Conan had been rebounding over the past few weeks.

I think NBC made the change, didn't like the result, and tried to restore the prior arrangement instead of supporting the new one. I think that if Conan had accepted the half hour move, his numbers would still suck, only now because everybody's switching the channel after the news instead of before.

And all because Jay Leno is a cocksucker.

He's all but k-lined from #television until September 1. I don't know if that includes negotiations. If not, he has seven months. It'll probably take that long to get the new show set up, anyway.

Conan is terrible on the Tonight Show. Like Ryu_Saotome said, he was only funny in the Late Night because of his antics like masturbating bear even that got old after awhile. But most of the time, it wasn't very entertaining and sometimes it's like the audience is giving him charity laughs, it was hard to watch.
