I was watching the O'Reilly factor Friday night (8pm EST) when he and Glen Beck discussed how they should be able to eat whatever they want, but that seniors, the disabled, people on welfare, anyone with government health care should have the government regulate what they eat.
I was a bit surprised as they tend to be against government regulations, but they seemed to feel that their tax dollars were supporting people's bad behavior.
As a disabled American, I must admit I don't like the idea of the government intruding on my eating habits. While I am trying to diet, it seems wrong to have government agents determining what I can and cannot eat.
I also wonder why limit it to people receiving assistance? Ben Rothlesburger nearly killed himself riding a motorcycle without a helmet, and had he done so the Pittsburgh Steelers and many people living in Pittsburgh would lose millions of $$$ of revenue, so was his risk taking ok?
And is this how we'll view our final years? once we can no longer work, we start losing the freedoms we've taken for granted? or if we're injured on the job, then we lose personal freedoms?
And does it end with food? what about having sex? or any other behavior that can affect your health?
The new and improved King of Lamers 2003!
