Ever since I've been getting "good" at Gaplus on the Wii, I've been having difficulty playing Galaga. Whether it be the arcade, emulation, no matter what version I play, I struggle to get over 100,000 points whereas I used to get over 150,000 easily on Galaga.

On Gaplus, I have topped 420,000, and good games net me over 250,000 points. The lowest high score I have on the Wii version is around 290,000. I'm lucky to get over 200,000 in MAME.

I just find it strange as Gaplus has always struck me as harder than Galaga, and I can't understand why I can do better at a harder version of another videogame?

Does anyone else have any similar experiences?
