Also, 30 years this week.

Fantastic movie and the best of the all SW movies, imho.

The 80's had a great start.

One part of me gets it, another doesn't, but I always found it interesting how a 'bridge' movie gets the most love.

80s ended with a bang too -- The Last Crusade 1989

Ah forgot about that, good important fact too. I lost respect for that prick 10 years ago entirely when I was at E3 2000. I happened upon this guy who looked starved for attention in the Nintendo booth in the corner, looked kind of upset. He happened to be trying to get attention for Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine for N64. Seems due to Lucas directly, he got fucked on his game. He had a team, but Lucas wanted anyone he could get on that awful Naboo N64 title and stole his entire team. He was left to glue together the pieces of Indy, finished up a few bits of audio (which wasn't his thing), code up any fixes or finishes, and even bug test it himself and given unreasonable time to do it. Ultimately, then the icing was refusing to sell it and it ended up only getting a 10K run of which 3K were sold public on the web(I have one) and the rest to blockbuster to rent. The game is beta late at best, had easy to reproduce crash bugs, will randomly die on its own locking the system so hard you have to power it off from the plug. Poor bastard, felt bad for him, and as buggy ast he game it, it's one of the best on the system still. Fuck Lucas.

I've been spoiled rotten by HD/Full HD media.

Why exactly is that Jabba fat money grubber taking so fucking long to release both trilogies on Blu-ray anyway?

All work and no play makes me..., well, you know the rest.

Really, there's some 720p edits of the theatrical cuts, instead of the thinkered bullshits of the DVD releases. The Adywan re-color of Ep.IV is beautiful.

I won't wait for another Lucas release, because there will be SO many CG inserts it will probably look as bad as Avatar did.

Empire is easily the most deep part of the original trilogy,we learn so much about the characters (antagonist is protagonist's father? the badboy hero is not SO badboy, after all, and the last of the Jedi's was still alive?) without some good action sequences (Hoth battle and the lightsaber fight between Skywalker and Vader), plus we get Cloud City, which is easily one of the coolest places in the whole SW universe. I always loved the look of it.

But of course, that is MY opinion..
But it cannot be taken seriously, because i think the phantom menace aged well.

That sounds rights. I laugh my ass off wheneve X-Play complains about the Nights of the Old Republic taking so long. I know the person that was originally responsible for the 3D character rendering. Lucasarts tried to fire him and erase his team, except when he left he took his work with him and covered his ass with a contract violation on their part. They had to start over on the game. This is probably where most of my bias for Lucas and Lucasarts comes from.

It's a re-edit of The Pantom Menace and it makes the movie watchable... less Aniken weeniness, less Jar Jar, tighter cuts in the scenes, etc.

Cool more douchy examples of Lucas's personal bullshit wet dreaminess over the SW franchise. Thanks, despite not caring about that game in particular, it gives me yet another reason to mentally kick him in the nuts.
