SubjectWe need a real life CA reunion. Reply to this message

No, this isn't an NT post like I've made over the past couple of years. This is a manifesto of sorts declaring a need for a CUrreNT AffaiRS(E) reunion somewhere in the continental U.S. I see others on messageboards with a "closeknit" community (you know many of us here at one point or another either annoyed or entertained the hell out of you - myself & TheFett notwithstanding), but I think in the past ten years while we've all grown older & set out ok different life paths (marriage, divorce, children, or a combo of the three as in my case) we still find ourseleves coming back here for our own reasons. And it's because of that I think we should have a meetup of sorts that'd blow the shit off of anything done before.

What do y'all think? I know a lot of you don't live in the U.S. where I believe a majority of us reside but is this something you think could happen this year?

Discuss plop

I was never in a flash cartoon or the topic of much discussion but I would probably show up somewhere if it was within a days drive.

I don't really see myself as a CA guy though... I only started coming here after trying to get ryu_saotome out of his anti-social ways in high school... and for some reason kept coming back after seeing him read some weird shit here.

Haven't spoke with him in a LOONG time now... so I guess I am on my own.

Pick a place where flying is a nice option, book a hotel and a convention room, and have a CA Con, very easily arranged, actually.

IF only i had the means to orchestrate that... ($$).

It would be fun to meet you guys IRL.

My place, you won't understand any road sign (all in french), mc donald's teen employee of the month will have a hard time understanding what you really want, real beer for 18+, doesn't matter since we're all old now, plus I don't need an hotel room or flight to some place, good thing since I'm poor as hell.

Seriously, it would be nice, but the only time I might go to the US this year it'll be in a brewpub close to jackman, maine, on the 3rd of july, maybe.

Too bad, it would be really cool. At least I can read jonnyvegas rants and watch his drunken ass on facebook.

I've always said that if the numbers work out, I'll get tickets for everyone and we'll have a hell of a good time in Vegas.

I'm glad that the word has spread to Canada. I would love to spread it in the USA but I doubt I'll be able to get over there.

It's not arranging a place that would be hard, but getting everybody there at the same time. I guess MMORPGs don't count...

I forgot where "bring chairs" came from - and Google just shows me a post by Joffe pointing to a FAQ on his very old site. Anybody still has a very old archive around?

maybe we could find it on archive.org, I found some pretty obscure stuff there, even a website I made years ago on a friend's server at home

Archive.org comes with a crappy error about robots.txt not allowing it to store the site. It looks like if somebody comes later with a robots.txt file, it could kill the whole archive for that URL? That pretty much sucks given domain squatters...

(address was joffeman.com)
