SubjectWTH happened to dos .com files? new Reply to this message

back in the day I used to launch dos games with file extenstions of .com such as level42.com -
they are ALL .exe which of course existed then also. Did the internet consume them into web pages or something. Any one know?

Nah, they just became less useful as system specs and programming techniques/requirements improved.

even if it's a little outta date. But yeah .com files are a thing of the past now. But god i had fun hacking command.com, back in the day.
