I still love the 360 but my god... 130+ for a damn 250gb hard drive on the new console... PS3 meanwhile allows the use of any HDD you want.

Supposedly there's nothing special about that drive, except that you'd break the case getting it out. Hopefully a third party will make an unauthorized HDD mount/adapter so you can upgrade it.

There wasn't anything special about the last ones either... they just were a specific Toshiba (I think) model that had a way to identify if it was that brand/size. It was still 2.5 and you could upgrade a 60 to a 250 with some file work/formatting... but still I want 1tb or higher ability in my console. If they want it to be a media center essentially... let me fucking upgrade it.

This new one should be just like the last, special files/formatting/size/etc will be required... most likely. The biggest deal of it all is that they charge 130 bucks for 250gb... no plastic case/engineering can be worth a 75+ dollar mark up on a fucking HDD... I guess my wishes are that business would be in it for the quality/satisfaction... not the money; that's a pipe dream though on my part.

It can be done pretty easily with a jtagged 360, as long as it's a 2.5inches drive. 3.5 drives also work but you gotta mess around with the 360. Then you can dump every game you want on the hd and play with them without having the goddamn dvd in the drive, hell you don't even need a dvd drive.

As for the new 250gb, yeah, they pretty much changed the hd casing, that's about it. People have put their old 360 hd in the new 360-s, with the help of some tape to fix the casing after you open it.

Yeah but the jtag only works on like 20% of xboxes now since it has to be made before august 08 or some stupid shit like that and not updated to NXE. I also want to still play online and get all the perks of having a non-modded/banned console. I guess the complaint would be the same on why cell phones in the US don't all use a mini usb connector.

actually it's the august 09 update that blew an efuse preventing jtag, nxe was already there before that. They're pretty rare now and getting a high price on ebay, and you're damn lucky if it's a jasper.

Yeah i knew it was some extreme bullshit that in very rare cases anyone has anymore. I modded mine a long time ago and ended up selling it since I never played the games and kept paying 1.50 for the discs day after day... ready for a hard drive version of a hack that doesn't require a specific model. Curious to see if this PS3 hack is real or not.
