In case you still use CRAP to play SNES games, you need to get with the times. bsnes is written by an anal retentive programmer (I mean that in a good way) and has been receiving regular updates. There are two versions: the 32bit version is faster but less accurate and the 64bit version that is more accurate but more demanding. I use the 64bit version and get 60FPS steady but I also have an i7-950 @ 4.2GHz. I think with one of the recent updates the 64bit version became less demanding but I'm not sure how low you can go and still have it run good.
Latest version is 074 and because it does low-level emulation of the DSP chips you'll need to find the DSP ROMs and put them in the folder with your game ROMs.
