While the official announcement of Mozilla Firefox 5 Final release is still not made, as happened in the past the Firefox 5 Final release build is already available on official Mozilla FTP servers, open to public access. The official scheduled date for Firefox 5 launch is after two days on 21st June, but the download is now online so nobody is stopping us to enjoy it before release date.

Windows binary direct link

Here's more info for you.

SWEET thanks.

I'll have to install this when I get back in a couple hours as I'm heading out in a moment or so. I hope this one is stable and has some good new features or speed ups involved.

Seriously... I still use firefox as my daily driver but this is just stupid. So rather than calling it what it is (firefox 4.1) they slap a whole number on it and act like they are shitting gold.

My biggest issue with all this is it will most likely continually break add-ons even though there isn't much changed.

I have a number of add ons I like! I hate seeing them "broke" from version to version.

I'll probably "sit out" this upgrade until some of the add ons I like are upgraded!"

Chrome updates itself without you noticing, without having to tell the world a new version is coming, it's just there and it works. No need for that kind of publicity when it's that good.

And thankfully it's always upgraded very quickly.

But i completely agree, that calling it Firefox 5 is stupid. It is Firefox 4.1 and nothing else.

So now we can expect 5 months life-cycles for a stable version of Firefox ? Are they trying to be Adobe ?
