Seriously, I used to buy Gamecube games a little bit back before I bought a US PS2, but my collection never really got all that huge. Now that I have a decent PC and Dolphin has gotten fairly mature, I've been buying more and more Gamecube games. Hell, even games I already have on other platforms just because I want to be able to run them in stupidly high resolutions on my PC.

Ripping takes a while per disc, but I love being able to do the whole process on my own without having to rely on downloading copies from the net. Kind of reminds me of when I first got my Super Wildcard DX2 and I dumped all of my SNES games + save data. That was fun.

I just bought the Spider-Man trilogy (Spider-Man / Spider-Man 2 / Ultimate Spider-Man), though the Dolphin wiki is showing them as not exactly perfect (quite far from it, it seems). That's ok, I can wait.

Recently I played through Hulk: Ultimate Destruction via Dolphin and while it wasn't entirely flawless, it was DAMN GOOD. Really makes me want to break out and play Prototype on PS3 so I can see where Radical went from there. Heard good things about that game...picked it up cheap, never got around to playing it.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger (which probably doesn't work very well judging by how Ty 2 runs), R: Racing Evolution, and Spartan: Total War should be here within the week, too. Spartan was awesome last I recall when I played it on Xbox, and with as amazing as Burnout 2 looks, I can't wait to see how R: RE turns out.

Can't they only be ripped using specific drives?

A compatible drive will set you back about $25 and ripping games is fairly easy, just a bit time consuming. I have my old PC set up with the drive and I let it handle that business. Whenever it's done ripping the images, I just shoot them over the network to my gaming PC.

I assume a homebrewed wii could rip the discs too?

Yep, never tried that, though. I believe it's supposed to be quite a bit quicker, and it's supposed to be fairly easy to dump your DSP rom for the LLE plugin. I've still got a pile of stuff I need to get around to dumping... just got Baroque for the Wii in. I really liked it on PS2 (one of the few dungeon roguelikes I've really gotten into) and am looking forward to seeing how the Wii version looks under emulation.

I rescued a copy of Super Mario Galaxy from the clearance rack at Target since Nintendo did find it necessary to make it part of their new Greatest Hits-style lineup (about god damn time Twilight Princess got marked down, btw) but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Heard it and Galaxy 2 were awesome.

Sunshine had some really great moments, and other times it was sabotaged by some painfully terrible camera quirks and level design deficiencies (sometimes in tandem).

Mario Galaxy is fun, but I had a weird sensation playing it. Couldn't stand to play it for more than 45min to 1 hour in a sitting. Not quite sure why... Maybe the poor presentation?

I've been playing a lot of snes lately, but thinking back n64 and some later Nintendo games suffered from lackluster presentation. No cutscenes (of any substance), no voice acting, I notice menu elements reused in many first party games. I think I've been playing too many Western games where the story is the focal point and the gameplay serves as a means to progress that. Nintendo seems to have gameplay for the sake of gameplay with minimal plot development or multimedia pizazz.

Maybe the Zelda games fared better. I still haven't gotten around to putting any substantial time into Twilight Princess (or Wind Waker, which seems less appealing to me).

Speaking of Nintendo, did you order that n64 flash cart? My Super Everdrive came this week and I've been loving it!

No, but I was damned tempted to. Couldn't justify spending that much after splurging on Duke Nukem Forever. :(
