SubjectDamn, it's been a long time since a comic made me cry... new Reply to this message

But Ultimate Fallout 01 really struck me somehow.
Ultimate Spider-man 160 didn't really move me in any way, it felt a little stale or lacking in some way.
I remember "Funeral for a friend" back in the '90s, but I don't remember it hitting such an emotional cord.

Mandatory reading for spider-man fans, whether you like the Ultimate series or not.

All work and no play makes me..., well, you know the rest.

The only comic I even look at any more is The Walking Dead.

Reboots, restarts, canon changes, manga art, etc etc have soured me on comics. Good thing the Walking Dead came on AMC. The series kicks ass in so many ways, and it turned me onto the comics. A little searching and I found the entire series on the web. Great reading!

The only books I've been following regularly in the past few years are Amazing Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-man and The Walking dead, which incidently, is another of the very few books in which an issue made me cry (Walking dead issue 06, that got me hooked in it).

Back in the 90's I subscribed to a slew of Marvel comics, nowadays, it seems I'm really not missing out on anything.

All work and no play makes me..., well, you know the rest.

I have boxes of comics I collected during the 90s. All of them are in a mylar cover and an acid free board.

Are they worth anything? Ask me in 30 more years. I did read a bunhc of them though.

Today there's just not that much to read.

That I refuse to pay $3.99 + for these books.

My sweetie has gotten me to buy some older "Trades" of comics that I like, as she has done for some time.

I am sick of the "Who will they kill" this time, reboots, stupid crossovers, etc. I think '92 was the last year I really enjoyed the stories that came out. Maximum Carnage, for example, was a great story, and a decent SNES game.

The new and improved King of Lamers 2003!
