SubjectSonic Generations new Reply to this message

Installed and played a lit bit. Modern Sonic still sounds like a douchebag to me. But Classic Sonic levels are cool, i liked the graphics and the fact that the first Chemical Plant is almost an verbatim copy of the MegaDrive level was an nice added bonus.

Still struglling with the Modern Sonic levels, i haven't played a "modern" Sonic since Sonic Adventure 1 on the DreamCast. But i'll get the hang of it.

I'm still at the very beginning, but so far, it pleases me.
So, it's good enough for me.

Haven't bought anything there so far, but I was tempted by Space Marine and Limbo. But I've still got LA Noire to finish up, Batman Arkham City, Metro 2033, Witcher 1 that I got for U$2.5, and I'm really hoping to get Skyrim and/or Assassin's Creed Revelations for christmas to seal the next few months.

All work and no play makes me..., well, you know the rest.

I love the way the levels color when you pass them. Some love went into this game for sure.

Awesome, getting it now. Got Skyrim with 33% off too, sure wish they had took it down 50% though since the base price of U$60 is already steep.
The only one I'm still hoping to see in the holiday sale now is Assassin's Creed, guess I'll hold the rest of my money for that last buy and hope to see it.

Totally agree with this. I got it for Christmas, and the last Sonic game I could barely stomach to finish was SA2 on the Dreamcast, and that was a barely due to the bugs and it was downhill from there. Some people truly tried on this and I think it shows. I've got Green Hill, Chemical, and Sky Garden sonic old/new so far, but oddly no boss fight yet and I know it's Metal Sonic which should be fun.

I too am having issues with the 'new' Sonic stages a little just because they get a bit too fast mixed with the 3D and you get some questionable moments the camera pitches or something having repeatedly sent my ass into a bottomless pit. The old school setup with good sonic though, those are so damn fun it's ridiculous and I'd never in my mind though fun and sonic would be in the same sentence again except referring to the old days.

One you "complete" the three stages (both acts) you have to go to the "upper" areas and play through dopey challenges. I can't get through them and really dislike them. Once you clear these challenges you get a key, get three keys from the challenges and you'll unlock the boss.

Every time you "complete" three stages (both acts) you'll have to repeat the process with challenges on those stages.

I swear Sega would be better off just letting gamers play Sonic and not throwing this crap / junk into it.

Yes I got it on the 66% off sale as well.

The game was #1 selling so I'm surprised we even got a 33% off sale. I was stunned that Sonic Generations got a 66% off sale, which made it a must buy.

I cleared the first boss (Robotnik, the other level one boss is Metal Sonic?,) and unlocked the next three levels. I hear there are nine levels in groups of three and there are 5 bosses?

Anyone else getting more frustrated than enjoying Sonic Generations?

I can't get past "perfect chaos." I can get three hits in but lose on the "4th" area. then the game makes me replay the 3rd area and it gets annoying.

That isn't the only thing I dislike. I don't like being forced to try stupid goals to get 3 keys to fight bosses. I don't like having to hunt chaos emeralds. I wish it were more like Sonic when it was "fun", when you played levels, then fought bosses, if you got all the chaos emeralds you got a 2nd ending, but it wasn't a requirement, it was just platforming fun.

I won't quit the game, but I'm disappointed that Sega always feels the need to add junk to Sonic that it doesn't need. If Sonic Unleashed didn't have the werehog stages, it would have been better. Even Sonic Colors is better than Generations in some ways.

I'm glad I only paid $10 for Sonic Generations, I can't imagine anyone wanting to play it once you finish it.

Finally beat "Perfect Chaos." I'm cringing at the next two bosses.

I also have two more levels to play, with two acts each.

I'm about 8.3 hours into the game.
