SubjectFebruary is PS2 Month, March is Gamecube Month new Reply to this message

Consider this a courtesy heads up! Let's all knock out at least one game for each respective system in their assigned months and post about that shit. I'm not sure what I'll do next month yet, but since I'm suffering through Medal of Honor: Rising Sun right now, I think I'll treat myself to Ty 3 or Pirates - Legend of Black Kat.

Let's make this a regular thing so that we can at least knock out 12 games a year :D

Do we want to do PS1 month in June again? What's good for the rest of the months? Any interest in months dedicated to the PSP and DS? I also vote that we roll SegaCD in with Genesis month because while it would be pretty fun to see everyone do something for it for a year or two, we'd totally exhaust that tiny library quickly.

Newish builds of PCSX2 and Dolphin are available via EmuCR, so make sure you update your stuff.

I probably won't finish anything, but I'm going to give Metroid Prime Trilogy another go when it is released on the Wii U next week. Is that close enough to gamecube to count?

I actually prefered playing MP1 with a cube controller, but everybody says the wiimote controls are a million times better. I'm not convinced yet...

I'm thinking of doing the same thing as well! Never did beat Metroid Prime, let alone play through the sequels. Hated the controls but still muscled my way through most of it on the GC.. I reckon it's time I finish it off and see what all of the negative fuss is about on the second one. Apparently the dual world design was handled super poorly and there's a shit ton of backtracking?

I really like this idea, although I'll probably have to go with "sony/nintendo/sega" months realistically :-)

I've been greedy and started too many RPG over the last two years; but I like them all so ought to prioritize. In terms of progress I'm furthest along in Xenoblade and FFXIII-2, but I started SMT Nocturne and enjoy it a lot as well...

Perhaps I should choose another genre than RPGs for this... something I can finish in a few hours!
Recently I've been recording gameplay with my FPGA, I finished an Amiga adventure game (Explora 2) some days ago.

That works well, too! We can cycle Sony/Nintendo/Sega/Other months and hit each three times a year with a target of clearing out one game for that chosen family each month.

Other would provide a set timeframe for Xbox/360/One games (I know I'd be working on beating some of my 360 backlog) along with encouraging experimenting with CDI/3DO/NeoGeo, or even dabbling in previously unplayed arcade games. Hell, even a game.com title, though I'm going to give everyone the courtesy reach around with: No matter how low your expectations for the game.com are, you will still be disappointed in how much it sucks.

Maybe I'll finally beat Lucienne's Quest this year!

Started playing Castlevania SOTN again. I have beaten the game a few times before. So much fun!

Every time I play it I'm impressed with how much fun it continues to be. I really ought to do a run of the 360 port one of these days.

Order of Ecclesia comes close though - I've played the hell out of it and was sad when I completed all the %s...

Other will also allow for computer stuff (Amiga/Atari) for which I have many games I'd like to go through - which I missed back in the day, or even Steam :-)

For Sega we should allow cross-platform... anybody who's into old-school SciFi anime such as Space Adventure Cobra, Yamato, Captain Harlock, etc. should try Infinite Space (repetitive combat but man the atmosphere).

I think Aria of Sorrow holds up after all, though Dawn of Sorrow is compromised by the shitty sealing gimmick. I wish reworked versions of them would be ported to XBLA/PSN :(

I have a nicely-modded PS2 with a hard drive in it. Tried to play it but it's not reading discs; it's been sitting in the attic for a while.
