Finally cleared out Ultimate Spider-Man. Generally weak boss fights and mission designs hamper a game with a terrific art style and world structure. I think the world was more fun to traverse and explore than Spider-Man 2, but the combat and missions of Spider-Man 2 were superior overall.

Also love that there's no transition or load times between swinging from the world into a building to rescue someone and carry them back down to the ground:


Used GSdx in software mode and a widescreen hack. Hack presented some artifacts in the few prerendered cutscenes (a very small portion of the left side of the screen is slightly offset) and GSdx has memory issues with Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man because of the wizard-like programming tricks Treyarch used to make the game possible on PS2. Save frequently, use the 4GB patch on PCSX2 to delay the crash a little bit longer, and use save states at checkpoints of longer missions.
