When arguing many people make sure to follow Godwin's rules and fallacies. I'm not sure if he ever developed a section on flaming so I think I'll try my own. All peeps looking to get down and dirty have to remember a few basic things about arguing. It's an art form not many possess. So on with my list of common flaming fallacies:

"I've been here since XX years and I decided to post now in disgust!"

For whatever reason peeps believe that gives them some sort of argument leverage. It doesn't. You just end up sounding like a jackass. Like the current problem was SO disturbing that it roused you from your throne up upon Mount Olympus. And %90 of the time if you quiz these assholes they couldn't guess anything right. Ask them who Sardu was and they'll prolly say "he used to run the Rumour Mill". If you HAVE been in emulation for years and we know it then that's a different story. But you can't just jump out of the woodworks and tell us you know exactly what's going on especially when you don't.

"If you don't like so-and-so's work then do it yourself!"

One of the most commonly coined phrases in CPS2. Unfortunately it usually has NOTHING to do with the original argument at hand. If we really wanted to go run out and emulate so-and-so's work we would have done it a long time ago. Still it usually has nothing to do with the argument(when speaking of CPS2).

Plus this contradicts the point of message boards(or borads as some imbiciles would have you believe). Speaking out about something that is "different from the general consensus" usually attracts said post. It's an attempt to shut you up regardless if you have a good point or not. I can agree that some rejects deserve that but more often than not it's used in the ENTIRELY wrong situation. SO be careful when you use it that it will be actually addressing the problem and not avoiding it.

j00 r a LAMER!!

One of the most commonly used and abused words in all of emulation. It's a poor argument and it usually says MUCH more about the person saying it than who it's being said to. Use more eloquent ways of discussion to prove their "lameness". Don't lower yourself to this pathetic name calling. I never use that word and I think you should be ashamed to. Unfortunately that word is tossed around like it's on sale for a penny a pound on #retrogamers. Just keep in mind who you hear it from most...you'll definitely see a pattern.

OK this statement is the dumbest thing anyone could ever say on a message board(borad). Posting denotes the fact that you have NO life. Yeah sure you may hang out on the weekends or go out to eat with a friend but that doesn't say a single thing about what "better" things you have to do. If you thought message boards were so pathetic why were you even posting there to begin with?! By that same logic you shouldn't even know what a forum is. You should have such entertaining and informative things in your life that you don't need to read the senseless ramblings of an internet junkie(see snowball 2).

So do me and everyone else a favor and go explore that fascinating life of yours.

Many people have stopped posting or reading the CPS2 and CA boards. Mainly because of what happend in the last few days.

Actually... This might happen now. the next move on CPS2 will not be xors. All the information to crack the code is out. We have all the originals and many decrypted parts and many examples. This makes decrypting codes MUCH MUCH easier. If we get the pieces in the right hands, it might be broken in a day.

My main complaint is that it should be written "Your a Lamer". I hate people who write 'hacker' talk. Come one, we aren't hackers and we don't care if someone can scan to see if we say CPS2. Do kids in the emulation scene think that if they add a 'z' to the end of a word they are hackers and hackers are cool and hackers get all the girls. It's Roms not RoMz. The z just makes it seem illegal and it's not (well.. kinda not)

For me, all my favorate games are already emulated (minus one or two). Anyway, I still love to see new games emulated so I can try them (some I've never seen) and the other thing, other people have other favorites. I still remember when some of my favorite games were emulated and the feeling I got playing them for the first time. Others should get that feeling even if their favorite games is newer and different then mine. Also, no matter how little you care about an emulation project yourself, you should always give respect to people who take all their free time to give you entertainment. Imagine if this whole thing was about Nicoli? Man, you would have people taking days off work and crying.
