Let me open you to the wonderful world of DirectConnect. It's a great little program that allows you to connect and share files of any sort with other people. It's also the EASIEST thing to setup ever! It has an integrated chat much like IRC so you can shoot the shit whilst you download your buddy's latest leechings. Might I remind you that the superstars of CA idle there and cut you up with their references to full body cavity searches and explosive diarhea. IT'S A MADHOUSE OF FUN AND MAYHEM!!

And of course on the bright side you can also get much needed files. It's a blessing during the latest mame releases too(quite a few folks with complete romsets here).

How to get started? It's too simple! First go to DirectConnect's website. Click their download link and get the full installation. Install. Start it up and go to this hub:

c-a.kicks-ass.net

The hub is run by HippieChick so give resepct!

If you have any problems connecting to another peer from behind a firewall then go into your settings and make sure you're looking at the "General" tab. Switch it into passive mode and try again. This helps some users(like me). And PLEASE for clarity's sake use your forum name as your nick in DC. Saves some confusion.

HUB RULES
Please adhere to our hub rules. They're there only for your benefit so don't take it lightly. We're not very tolerant to fakers and such. ok here goes...

• At least 2 free slots - If you refuse uploads then you will not be allowed to stay(it's about sharing asshole!). I also decided upon 2 because 3 would be a little harsh with our friends on dialup.
  
  
• NO FAKE SHARES! - What is a fake share? It's when you put bogus files in your shared folder just to beef up the amount of stuff you have on. For example lots of people like to put their windows folder in shares. If you are found to be using this then your balls will be cut off and eventually we will ban you. Also people have ways of making it seem like they have files when there's none really there. They also will be castrated.
  
  
• No excessive hub idling with DC++ - If you are found to be in a number of hubs then you will be kicked or banned depending on our moods. We have folks that show up that are in about 150-200 hubs. That means our chances of ever downloading anything off of you are slim to none. But subsequently our chances of banning you into an eternal pit of shame are almost %100. You can be in a few hubs but please don't push your luck!
  
  
• BE COURTEOUS! - We're all here to share the fun. If you have to be a dick and spam or just be a dick then we'll kill you. Also it's nice to idle as others can get some of your files. If you just show up, leech off of people, then leave then you're jsut being a selfish prick. Granted the internet is about %85 selfish pricks, you should not contribute to this figure. SHARE YOUR FUCKING FILES YOU WORTHLESS WHORE!!!
