I remember a long while back, say 1987 or so, I downloaded a game off a local BBS that was a text-based hotel manager simulation. I'm almost certain it was called "Hotel Manager", but it may have just been "Hotel". I remember that I thought the game was crap, but my Dad loved it, and brought up the other day how he wished he could play that one again. So I went out looking to see what I could find on the normal sites (Lemon, et. al.), but all I could find was a different game called "Hotel Manager" (sometimes prefaced with "Steigenberger"). Actually, I managed to run across two version of it, one in Deutsch, the other (hard to find!) in English. I know that this isn't the same game, because the game Dad used to play was all text, like a text-based adventure game, only you went back and forth from one menu to the next, doing things like setting room rates, arranging bands and dinners, etc.
I found a cached link on Google to a C64 game that I thought might be it, but alas, the page is down and all that's left is the cached copy:
The Oldgames
Does anyone else know of this game? I'm actually not sure if I downloaded it off of a BBS or Q-Link.
This makes me wonder how many other small, little known applications are lost forever to the abyss of time... (Of course, except for my Dad wanting to play it again, I wouldn't have considered it that much of a loss. :)
Thanks all!
