SubjectPPC Emulation... new Reply to this message

Not PocketPC, PowerPC. Now, the question is, who has an SRU map of the PPC CPU, and where can I find it? I keep on hearing that the PPC RISC CPU is so hard to emulate, but I have yet to see why.

I would like to see it with my own eyes, does anyone know of a program that will help me map the PPC System Registry? A 710 emulator may be out of the question, but we could at least get a 602, or a 602e emulator running. Something that will run OSX 10.2.

The Virtual Macintosh I am working on, with my JIT compiler, has promise. I have got almost every PPC instruction translated over now. The only thing I have yet to do, is test it. I am crossing my fingers, and it may just work.

It's not that it's hard to emulate, it's just hard to emulate quickly. Without jit you're screwed, with jit it depends on how good your code is.
