I recently tried Mednafen for PSX games and my initial impression was that it was good because it emulated the PSX "as-is", but until an N64 emulator is created that *just* emulates the N64 and doesn't require a buncha bullshit plugins, we're still in the crapper. (Did that already happen? I might be out of the loop.)
I believe that the primary objective of emulating retro gaming consoles should be to FIRST reproduce it as it initially was, THEN you work on improving it with up-scaling features (as options) and so on. Why initially build an N64 emulator on plug-ins? Why not just build on as-is N64 output? I appreciate the dedication to improve on old devices, but original reproduction should be first and improvement should be secondary.
