If you can do it with a dry and clean cloth use that! Less likely to get strands of cotton stuck everywhere! As far as the console contacts itself that depends on the system and i'm not sure which console unit your talking about... Some you can take apart rather easilly but others you might need to do use a soldering iron and/or might have to take apart the whole damn thing piece by piece! If you can get in there with the cloth with a little leverage just do that i'd say! And make sure that whatever you use that it's just damped and not soaked with isopropyl!
