I have a few similar stories like this one.

All these are just from talking to co-workers.

1. Co-worker was moving and new I collected arcade games. Said he has a Street Fighter II, Atari Stunt Cycle and Yie Ar Kung Fu. Said I could have them for FREE if I just take them off his hands.

2. Another co-worker heard me talking about arcade games and she said they have KLAX in their garage their kids don't play with. Said I can have it for FREE :)

3. ANOTHER co-worker (also heard me discussing arcade games) said he had an old Atari 2600 with about 50 carts and said I could have it for...you guessed it...FREE.

Morale of this story:
Try to work in video/arcade games into conversation - you'd be suprised what people have/willing to get rid of :)
