I've got a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga, I bought it a week and a half ago in a second hand shops bargain bin. Its a great game and all, but how come it sells for so much on Ebay? Did Sega do an ET and bury half of them in the desert or something? Any info I would love!

Sega only made 5,000 of the US version, and naturally it sold out immediately. So it's quite rare.

Wow, that explains why it's so rare. Why on earth would they only produce 5k copies? Seems cost prohibitive if you ask me.

Great game though. Much better at involving the player in the story than your typical Square crap. FF7: Aeris died and I thought, doh! Lost my items. PDS: Someone hurts my dragon friend and they're dead meat!!

It shipped after the Saturn was already discontinued, so they wanted to keep any Atari-like overproduction risk at bay. There were only 5,000 made of the US Burning Rangers also, but it's not as sought-after as PDS.

-R.B., who will buy whichever next-gen console has a new Panzer Dragoon first.

I bought both Panzer Dragoon Saga and Burning Rangers on the same day. It didn't matter to me if they were rare, I just wanted to play them. :)

It's OK. The Saturn really doesn't do the game justice and it suffers from tough control. It would be a decent game to bring back on the Dreamca... XBox.

I think the Saturn does a great job with Burning Rangers, the controll IS great and there is rarely any slowdown. The only thing I see wrong with it is missing polygons every now and then.

I'm mighty lucky to have my copy of PDS. here's my story.

I got it from the local Toys 'R' Us for only $20, and it was the last copy at that. and this was when the game was just coming out! a friend of mine who manages the local EB (which is right across the road from the Toys 'R' US) had gotten the last ticket (like they used back then at Toys 'R' US) for PDS. he told me he was saving it for some guy, but it ended up that the guy never came to get it. so i got the ticket and rushed over to Toys 'R' Us. i enjoyed the game very much and as a result, my grades suffered ^_^ And the game is still in like-new condition!!

I'm not sure why I'm mentioning this, I think because it was released at the same time... Check out Magic Knight Rayearth too. Great game, a little bit easy though.

(I have B.R. too, but I missed my chance to get PDS when it came out. Shame.)

From Chris Lucich ex-Sega producer and currently my prodcucer on a PS2 game I'm designing, the actual number was 40,000- which is still very low! Just not a crazy 5000...

Burning Rangers was a good Saturn game, but it woulda been a million billion times better on Dreamcast.
