Subjectblack marker pen on SNES carts. Reply to this message

I've picked up a box of ex-rental SNES carts, that have the title of the game hand-written in marker pen on the tops.

I've tried turpentine, window-cleaner and metholated spirits. If anyone can solve this problem, or how to reduce the noticable 'yellowing' of the plastic of some carts, please let me know.

WD40 usually works ok - You really need an anti-alcohol based Oil. Most Hardware shops should be able to help out. Otherwise try Paper Ink ;-D j/k

I can't think of any anti-yellowing stuff. The best thing is to try a star wars related toy site, or a modelling site - there is something out there, but as far as I know it'll bleach the plastic to white, not grey.

I use Naptha (its a cousin of paint thinner, but a higher molecular weight). It works really well and doesn't harm the labels.

I've search for years to find a method of reducing the plastic-yellow without success, I have several Nintendo Game & Watches that suffer from this - good luck
