I recently picked up a gem, "Smash Tennis" by Namco for the AUS-SNES. As far as I know this is a reasonably rare game. Can anyone back that up or disprove it.

As for the game, Tanya and I played it non-stop all night. I recomend it (if indeed it is not rare) for good two-player fun when friends/girlfriends that can't play more complex 'special-move' games are over.

Well, I remember this being one of the most popular games in England (PAL version), and as far as I remember there were a lot of copies floating around. Its a really nifty game that came out when the system first launched if I remember. It is pretty hard to find nowadays though - so good purchase and its great fun.

I had never seen it here before, perhaps it was not released in a big way in Australia to begin with. Like we've both established, the game was purchased for the 'fun-factor', and that's what really counted here.

To the American SNES fans, if this cart didn't get a (US) release, really - do yourself a favour and import it.

I own close to 50 MVS carts, several CPSII boards, a Sega ST-V and almost every console, so don't take this advice lightly. I see a huge number of carts, for all systems, and I would say that for as far as multiplayer games go, this would be in my 'must-have' list along with 'Puzzle Bobble' and the 'Magical Drop' series.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Super Tennis? I could be wrong, but Super Tennis was definitely the one that came out at the SNES launch. Damned fine game. Must buy it soon.

Nope, I still own the game, maybe it wasn't launched with the system, my memory is awful - I thought that Contra was something the U.S imigration tried to stop coming in from the South

Fair enough - you could well be right and they were both available at launch.
It's not surprising that Contra is a problem, since they screwed around with the UK version of Super Contra Spirits and called it Super Probotector instead. Very strange. I still own that one!

Ditto, the game r0xx0rs... I don't think there was ever a US release though :(

Tetris Attack is on my list of must have SNES games, right at the top ;)
