I would like to state that the information posted by Hanman is somewhat incorrect (it's missing information). Let me explain.

The post from TheInformer (10/04) was related to the Virtual Jaguar/SDL v1.0.7 *PUBLIC BETA*. This was a x86-win32 binary release based upon the "old" CVS tree with new OpenGL enhancements.

The post from Hanman on the frontpage of retrogamers.com is stated as Virtual Jaguar v1.0.7. This should be Virtual Jaguar/SDL (also known as Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL) because Virtual Jaguar is by Cal2 (Potato Emulation) while Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL is by the sdlemu developers. The Linux builds are from the Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL v1.0.7 *FINAL* that was released on 06 oktober 2004 (2 days after the x86-win32 *PUBLIC BETA* release). Yesterday we made the x86-win32 binary available (based upon the *FINAL* sourcebase) and other users provided me with a Gentoo and a Mandrake x86-linux binary build.

In short, it's about two different releases because the 4 October was a beta while the 6 October was (and still is) the final version. On 7 October we put up several binary releases based upon the source release from 6 October.

And for the record, it's Virtual Jaguar GCC/SDL or Virtual Jaguar/SDL and not Virtual Jaguar :)
