Snowbro (AKA Kent Hansen) author of all those great nes level
editors (MetEdit, Tile Molester, Tile Layer Pro) has been
working on a homebrew nes game for several years now, much
like the GrandTheftTendo guy, he wants to release the NSF
music track for the game now and get some hopefully positive
reviews of the music for the game. He did the music ,
graphics and coding of the game all by himself, so check
the nsf out and write back here what you think of the
songs.

The name of the game is NeoToxin, that's all you get for
now :)

Recalls the sound of some Konami game to me (but I haven't much experience on the NES).

Pros: a good NES soundtrack, the one you'd expect from a commercial game or some serious demo geek. Very polished too: you won't hear a single note out of place; the melodies are interesting in their simplicity. Solid drums (especially bassdrums, never heard them so hard on the NES), synthy arpeggiating leads. That's cool stuff eh! :)

Cons: some tracks are short and thus get boring if played for more than 1 minute (but maybe in the game you hear them for less). Some variations would improve the listening experience, anyway. Also, I would avoid looping twice intro patterns, expecially when they are slow. And last thing: use softer hihats, they almost sound like half-volume snares.

Song I liked best: 9/16. Song 15/16 is also good.

Having an idea about the kind of game where this stuff would play could add to the general impression. Come on, say something more.

nice, homebrew nsf!

imo good tracks are:

2 5 7 13 16

the rest are moderate but not annoying.

Here are some screenshots from the game, it's very incomplete
atm, no real quests to complete, just kinda wander around,
story is still being worked on, let us know what you think,
yes we know the zombie looks lame, so don't mention it :D
