Saw this on watch.impress.co.jp today and filled the cup. First the Saturn pad and now this... life is good. The 6,980 yen price tag isn't so good, but I'll pay it. Fuck it. I need to be able to play my fighting games proper :(

This looks very much like the Dreamcast's arcade stick. I don't think that it was a very decend or authentic arcade controller. Like the Naomi cabinets it seems kind of cheap. The light gray plastic frame, the weak control stick, the wobbly buttons. The metal plate at the bottom was the only part of the DC board that gave it a half way decend appeal of durability.
I personally prefer the Saturn's arcade controller above all else. And that's just because it fitted the console so well. It wasn't trying to imitate the much more costly arcade original components but was rather designed with the console in mind.
The DC board was just trying to look authentic but failed miserably once you actually held the thing in your hands.

The Japan-only Saturn Virtua-Stick (HSS-0136, which looks exactly like this one) was far better than the US black version. Also it supposedly used the actual components from the arcade version (yes it does look kinda cheap doesn't it).

The DC version was crap too btw.

I think I remember (maybe from reading lik-sang?) that these are overstocked (DC?) sticks later factory modified to USB.
