Not sure of your point here. You don't appear to have one.

Original point: Emulation could exist just fine if certain people stopped posting pointless stuff to inflame situations on news sites (historically) and message boards (NOW).

When people do post these comments certain devs, who spend there free time and money working on this stuff, get pissed off and decide to do other things involving Real-Life (TM) and not involving bits of emulation code or arcade boards. So emulation exists fine without people bitching about it.

Hence "Emulation could (and did, for us long-timers) exist just fine without the mass audience".
Solution: quit bitching.
