I can still remember the day i wrote my first program. it was just a stupid "ask question - reply with message" thingie, but i loved it and was hooked for years. I was even more hooked up to the thing when i learned about interupt 10h to deal with graphics stuff in the dos days and i made and tried out lots of things daily. And the joy of your first simple working game is so great. However after many years doing it, 2 times the losing of all my source code of all my projects and programming a few years for a company i'm really fed up with it all and hardly do it anymore unless i really need something for myself. Maybe i just need a break and i'll gain my intrest again in a few years.
I was never good enough to do emulators but i did look many things up about creating one, even got a course about programming virtual cpu's on university (this hardly came anything close to what's needed for emulators) but i do have some idea what kind of work it all takes to create one, even if u don't have to reverse engineer and everything is documented
People should look up what kinda knowledge is needed to just make a simple emulator, u'd be surprized and overwhelmed and probably gain more respect to people who actually do spend their free time on creating emulators.
