I didn't have an ATI card before so i didn't bother to follow the issue, but i remember some talk about something like that. Was there a fix released or is it just wishfull thinking on my part?

The issue is that the emulator uses an optional feature of Direct3D that ATI cards do not support. Whether or not that feature will be added, I don't know. The other way would be for Elsemi to recode that part of the renderer to not use that feature, it possible that is.

As I recall, Elsemi put something in to the emulator at one point that hid the polygons that were being drawn wrongly by ATI cards. It wasn't a perfect solution, since stuff was still being skipped that was handled correctly by nvidia cards, but it at least made the games playable on ATI cards. I assume that's still the case with the latest version (but I couldn't say for sure, since I'd already got rid of my ATI card by that point.)

IIRC the latest version works fine on ATI cards. It's all down to Elsemi using an optional part of the D3D spec in earlier versions for clipping. Not sure if it's the default though, it's been a while since I ran it.

There are some polygons reflected in the sky in some games, and missing/breaking-up textures too (most notably the car bonnets in the Jaleco GT racing game. And that's with the ATI workaround enabled.

Oh and the latest build doesn't have digital audio (music) in Sega Touring Car Championship or Top Skater, however it looks a LOT better than the previous version.
