Sounds like you were trying to run the DOS version? Maybe an emulator like DOSBox would be a better option for that. I've just downloaded the Win98 version from Hudson's site (http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gamedb/slg/data/winnec98.exe) and have no problems running it. Of course it's in Japanese, so that actually IS a problem, at least for me. :)
