Hi,

Hope this isn't regarded as spam, please delete if so.

A friend and myself have developed a front end and highscore client for Mame. Basically, you load the program up, pick a game (if you have it), play away. After the game has finished, our system will check your score against others on the high score table. If your score is within the top 50, you ge the chance to put your name in. (just like the old days).

We are pretty confident that the program is cheat-free, but to make sure, we need the help of you wonderful lot to pick out mistakes, improvements etc.

If you are interested, please visit http://www.coinup.co.uk

Support for games is small at the moment, as this is only a beta test stage, but the list should grow once we have ironed all the bugs etc out.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks very much for your kind words.

Games are constantly getting added so they are compatible with our system, so hopefully it will fill up soon.

Thanks again,
ChiZ

the cheat might be a problem. Since you can have people compile their own (they could have cheats enabled without the .ini or -cheat). So you probably want some good CRC checks on the mame version itself. (then you might want to clamp it down for some versions... for instance robotron is MUCH easier then a few versions ago).

good luck
