A worthy sequel, definitely. More of a sequel than the official one (polygons have no place in a 2D game, especially when they do nothing to advance the gameplay).

It's an impressive game with a unique sense of design. The reason I don't feel it overshadows Strider is that Strider was the original. Osman doesn't really innovate in any special way, and in terms of pure gameplay adds very little if anything. It's Strider with fancier graphics, even more creative design elements and lots and lots of pretty colors.

That's not meant as a criticism - Strider was a very good game, and impressive as hell when it first came out, and Osman is more of something good, so that's not bad at all. I'm very glad the game got made, and even more glad it got emulated so we could all actually play it.

But Strider is still the original.
